The Messiah lives in Berlin

This work emerges from my continued exploration of personal identity and collective memory, reflecting a distinctly Jewish lens on the public sphere. It captures the profound emotional resonance of fear, grief, and displacement following the tragic events of October 7, 2023, in Israel. Rooted in Jewish thought and tradition, the piece draws upon themes of persecution, exile, and the rituals of mourning. It evokes the ancient rhythms of Kaddish, the collective cries of lamentation, and the resilience found in preserving memory through sacred acts. The video becomes a living Midrash, an interpretive space where the individual and the collective intertwine, illuminating the enduring question: how does memory guide us toward healing and hope?
